Dubai and Abu Dhabi Boat Shows Move to November: What It Means for Yacht Buyers and Charterers

November has become the month the Gulf’s yachting calendar comes alive. Within a single week, Abu Dhabi and Dubai will each open their doors to the international marine community, while in Florida a new Sunseeker has just made its American debut. For anyone weighing a yacht charter in Dubai or a purchase from the UAE market, the timing could hardly be better.

Abu Dhabi International Boat Show: 19–22 November

The Abu Dhabi International Boat Show returns this month to Marina Hall at the ADNEC Centre, running Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 November, daily from 2pm to 10pm. Organisers are promising a 10,000-square-metre marina pontoon with superyachts, high-performance motorboats, day cruisers and catamarans, plus live sea trials for qualified buyers and trade visitors.

Two details stand out. First, a dedicated charter and leisure pavilion will showcase private island itineraries across the UAE, a reminder of how much demand there is for luxury yachts in Abu Dhabi beyond outright ownership. Second, the show gives space to electric outboards and solar-assisted yachts, a sign that sustainability is moving from side topic to buying criterion.

Dubai International Boat Show: now a November fixture

Dubai’s flagship show has also moved. Dubai World Trade Centre shifted the 2026 edition from its traditional April slot to 25–29 November at Dubai Harbour, and the show is set to take place in November every year from now on. According to the organisers, the new dates align with the start of the region’s prime boating season, which they expect will improve conditions for launches, sales and international participation.

For owners and prospective buyers, this matters in practical terms. Cooler autumn weather makes walking pontoons and stepping aboard far more comfortable, and it lines up the show with the start of the cruising season. Having two major shows in consecutive weeks also makes it easy to compare a wide range of yachts for sale in the UAE in one trip.

New models to watch: Sunseeker Manhattan 56

On the product side, Sunseeker used the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (28 October to 1 November) to give its redesigned 17-metre Manhattan 56 flybridge its US debut, headlining a seven-yacht display. The yacht offers three cabins for up to six guests, twin Volvo Penta D13-800 engines, a comfortable cruising speed of around 25 knots, a top speed of up to 32 knots and a range of up to 230 nautical miles. Its interior was developed with Design Unlimited, and the aft cockpit features twin fold-down balconies and a beach club.

It is a good example of where the mid-size market is heading: more glazing, more outdoor living space and apartment-style interiors. Expect similar thinking from the other leading builders in the segment as the Gulf shows approach.

How to make the most of show season

After fifteen years working in UAE yachting, our advice is simple. Decide in advance what you want from the yacht: day charters around Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, longer weekends to Abu Dhabi and the islands, or a long-term ownership plan. Ask about total running costs, including berthing, crew, maintenance and insurance, not just the purchase price. And if you have never owned before, charter a similar yacht first. A day on the water tells you more than any brochure.

If you are buying, ask for a survey and a clear review of service history, and think about who will look after the yacht when you are not aboard. Good management, from crew to maintenance schedules, protects both your enjoyment and the resale value.

What this means for Dubai and UAE yachting

With both major shows now in November, the UAE’s season has a clearer shape: show-led buying and new-model launches in the autumn, followed by the peak charter months of winter. Whether you are searching for luxury yachts in Abu Dhabi, a yacht charter in Dubai for a special occasion, or a long-term partner for sales and management, now is a natural moment to start the conversation.
